Our Coaching Staff

Ted Goeltz, President, Technical Director, U11 Coach

Ted holds a USSF National D License and has been coaching girl's soccer for over 17 years. He is past-President of Medina Soccer Association and the founder of the Lady Knights Soccer Club. His teams have won numerous league championships as well as many local tournaments including Wadsworth, Ashland, Bay, Avon Lake, Hudson, Medina, Euclid, NOGSL, and the State Cup.

Steve Garcia - U14 Coach

Steve holds a State E license and has coached for over twelve years. He has won multiple division titles in the NOGSL (2002 Spring; 2003 Spring; 2005 Spring) as well as a division title in GAASA. His teams have placed well in local tournaments which includes 2004 MIST Champions and 2002 Finalist, as well as Championships in the 2006 and 2007 Wadsworth Tournament.

Ivaly Garcia - U14 Coach

Ivaly holds a U9 - U11 Coaching Module certificate from OYSAN. She has played soccer for over eleven years which includes Medina Classics, Cleveland Futbol Club, and the LKSC High School team, which won the GAASA Division Championship in the spring of 2007.

Dave Nelsen - U13 Coach

Dave has been coaching soccer at both the recreational and travel levels for over nine years. He holds a State E coaching license and has served as the NOGSL community rep for the Medina Classics. Dave's teams have won the GAASA Championship and Division 1 Championship titles on numerous occasions.

Rich Nemeth - U12 Coach

Rich holds a module license from OYSAN and has been coaching for LKSC for three years. During that time he has won numerous Division Championships and playoff titles. He has back-to-back Championships in the 2006 and 2007 Wadsworth Tournament.

Gary Calhoun - HS Indoor / Spring Coach

Gary has coached soccer for over nine years at the rec and travel levels. He holds a State D coaching license and previously coached the U11 Medina Mites in 2003-2004. For LKSC, Gary has coached U8, U9, U14 and HS teams. He has been part of numerous tournament wins and division championships.

Jim Haston - HS Coach

Jim holds a U12 Module License through OYSAN. He has previously coached the U12 Medina Mites in 2004-2005 and the U13 Medina Magic in 2005. For LKSC, Jim has led the U12 Lady Knights Fusion to a league title in 2006, and the U13s to a division championship in 2007.

Dan Palmer - Professional Trainer

Dan is the current men's coach at Case Western Reserve University and serves as trainer and camp director for LKSC. Dan previously coached at Hiram and at William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. Dan was honored as the 1997 American Midwest Conference Men's Co-Coach of the Year and the 1998 AMC Women's Coach of the Year.

Dan has been recently been named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Adidas NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Coach of the Year in part for leading the CWRU Spartans to a school-best 17-2-2 overall record
