LKSC History
A Brief History...
After enjoying many years volunteering for Medina Soccer Association as President, Director of Registration, rec and travel coach, club founder Ted Goeltz went into "retirement" from coaching.
After less than a month of retirement he was approached by a local Christian school to start a girl's soccer team for their students. So as not to fragment existing MSA teams, he accepted only players from that school and a couple of players who were not currently playing for any team.
After one season of playing in the Medina Rec league it was clear that this group of players, many with no soccer experience, were ready for a bigger challenge. They joined the Greater Akron Amateur Soccer Association and quickly became one of the most competitive teams in the league. Their success resulted in many requests to join the team and subsequently the decision was made to become a "club" and they added several more teams.
Due to some reorganization at the school, the club went totally independent but maintained the Lady Knights name and colors in honor of their heritage.
After 10 years of success and domination in GAASA, in the Fall of 2009 the club made a decision to move to the OYSA-N State League, the only USYSA recognized premier league in Northern Ohio.
A strong coaching staff, good organization, a lack of politics, and innovative training methods have allowed LKSC to grow to where it is considered one of the most formidable competitors in the area.
